JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration has started, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) inviting online applications from engineering aspirants across India. According to the official public notice dated 24 October 2026, candidates can apply for the January 2027 examination through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to submit the application form without a late fee is 22 November 2026. Candidates who miss the deadline can apply with a late fee of ₹500 during the extended registration window. JEE Main 2027 Examination Details
The NTA will conduct JEE Main 2027 in two sessions: Session 1 in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027. The first session is intended for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture and planning programmes.
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.): Admission to engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs and other participating institutions. It is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced.
Paper 2A (B.Arch.): Admission to Bachelor of Architecture programmes.
Paper 2B (B.Planning): Admission to Bachelor of Planning programmes.
The examination will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Paper 1 and Paper 2B will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Paper 2A will also be conducted in CBT mode, except for the drawing test, which must be completed offline on an A4-size drawing sheet.

For Paper 1, each subject has 20 questions in Section A and 5 questions in Section B. The official notification specifies negative marking for incorrect answers in both sections. Candidates should refer to the information bulletin for the complete marking scheme and examination instructions.

The NTA has instructed candidates to submit only one application form. Applicants should provide their own or their parents’/guardians’ email address and mobile number for official communications.
JEE Main 2027 Session 2 Registration
Candidates can apply for Session 1 separately and will receive another opportunity to register for Session 2, scheduled for April 2027. Candidates who apply for Session 1 can use the same application number when applying for Session 2, subject to the instructions issued by the NTA. A separate notification will be issued for Session 2 registration.
